Sowing
Plant in autumn 5 to 8 in deep (Fedco). Bulbs can also be forced indoors after a cold period.

Flowers fade in a few weeks and plants thin out over time.

Bulbs can irritate skin; wear gloves.
Saving seed
Replace spent bulbs every few years.
